Austin Additional Information

This is a really good Austin 1300 which is completely sound structurally and mechanically excellent. First registered in June 1969, the registration document shows only four previous keepers, one of which owned the car from 1984 until 2011.

The bodywork is largely original and in excellent order throughout, with paintwork which presents extremely well without being absolutely perfect. Mechanically the car is superb with engine, transmission, steering , suspension and brakes all working as they should. The interior is, I believe, completely original. The seats are unmarked and still comfortable, the carpets show some signs of wear but remain intact and well fitted, the door cards are excellent and the headlining and matching rear shelf covering are very good. All the brightwork is in very good condition and the wheels and tyres are in excellent order. The MOT (no advisories) runs until 22nd September 2017,the car is HPI clear and the recorded mileage is 28000.

Considering the volume in which they were produced there are relatively few of these cars left on the road and many of those are in a very sorry state. This, however, is a lovely example which retains its originality whilst being in exceptional condition and driving just as well now as these iconic cars did back in their day. It will make a particularly useable family classic which draws favourable attention wherever it goes, and I would really like to see it go to a marque enthusiast who will continue to use and maintain it to ensure that it survives in its present condition for many more years to come.
